Folding arm joints
Hinges and locks must fit the same arm and center-body revision. The procurement decision includes retention parts and wear items, not just the visible hinge block.
What to specify
Use these fields to describe your requirement. Values are supplied by the buyer or the responsible integrator; this reference does not list an in-stock SKU or a universally compatible replacement.
| Requirement | Information to include |
|---|---|
| Geometry | Arm diameter and pivot locations |
| Lock | Original mechanism and mating parts |
| Pins | Pin size, material and retention |
| Play | Permitted movement and test method |
| Duty | Expected fold cycles and environment |
| Service kit | Pins, bushes and hardware included |
Sample and acceptance review
Ask for dimensional and functional checks under an agreed fixture and duty. Keep approved samples of both halves together.
A common purchasing mistake
A lock that closes by hand has not thereby passed the airframe maker’s structural acceptance criteria.
