Electronics enclosures
A protective housing changes access, heat flow and cable routing. The request should distinguish a mechanical box from a tested environmental enclosure.
What to specify
Use these fields to describe your requirement. Values are supplied by the buyer or the responsible integrator; this reference does not list an in-stock SKU or a universally compatible replacement.
| Requirement | Information to include |
|---|---|
| Envelope | Internal and external dimensions |
| Mount | Board and aircraft mounting patterns |
| Access | Service openings and removable panels |
| Seals | Gaskets and required test evidence |
| Thermal | Heat paths and ventilation constraints |
| Cable entry | Glands, bend clearance and strain relief |
Sample and acceptance review
Use a populated fit sample. Any ingress or thermal claim needs evidence for the assembled enclosure and specified configuration.
A common purchasing mistake
A gasket in the drawing does not establish an IP rating for the finished assembly.
